HUGO translates the raw character of the former Koelhuis site into a modern residential environment. The building balances compact living with shared spaces and strong connections to its surroundings.

Introducing housing into a former industrial environment

The primary challenge was transforming a mono-functional industrial site into a liveable residential setting. The project had to accommodate housing while respecting the site’s heritage, scale, and existing urban structure.
